Creating Connections
We support our scholarship applicants by helping them
make connections and publicizing their work. An advisory team
periodically reviews applicants projects to provide input. SAKS FIFTH
AVENUE generously donated a window display featuring 6 pieces of artwork
by one scholarship applicant; an exhibit featuring the work of one
applicant was held in a new gallery location; a public exhibit in the
lobby of the HATCH & PARENT LAW FIRM on State Street featured the work
of other applicants, and RALPHS GROCERY COMPANY assisted with the recent
Children’s Fiesta Art Competition.
Arts Education
We have plans to support this growing need throughout
the community. In July 2000 we began providing funding for workshops for
dancers age 8 and up; we have offered a new award to S.B. City College
Digital Arts Program for the Best Video of Performing Artist; and we
plan to support audience development in 2003 - by helping students to
attend and critique performances by nationally known artists.
How You Can Help
Donate a scholarship
Donations for specially named scholarship awards and the endowment fund
may be made in honor of a loved one. We appreciate corporate and
individual support and funding for our scholarship program.
Volunteer
We welcome the expertise and assistance of individuals who share our
love of the arts for special events and projects year round.
Buy a tour for a friend or relative:
Announcing the VIP Pass to Santa Barbara - City of the Arts.
We are offering a "behind the scenes" tour package
including luxury accommodations, and visits to special collections,
historic homes, private art studios and meet-the-artist receptions
following performances -- a unique opportunity to enjoy cultural travel
while supporting the arts. This special fund-raiser will garner media
attention and bring the donations of art lovers from beyond Santa
Barbara. Several tours are scheduled throughout the year. See
