John and his wife Lyn met during Old Spanish Days at the El Paseo, establishing a family tradition of celebration and creating many
memories of the romantic time that Fiesta represented.

Many family traditions have been created by Santa Barbara’s
premiere festival. John Profant dedicated his life to his family, and we will
all miss his loving companionship, guidance, patience, and quiet
strength. He was a true gentleman. It is in his honor that we have
established this organization for the arts.
